STFU, Conservatives: Really? REALLY?!

Okay, I don’t usually chime in on racism issues, because there’s a great group of girls that I follow who quickly say what I want to, with much more eloquence than I. But this has really pissed me off tonight, that and,…

the fuck? will smith

White pride has been used as a slogan to harass, terrorize, belittle, and harm non-white people mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. “Black power” and “Black pride” had to happen in order to give pride and power to a people who had NEITHER. It was stripped from them by YOUR ancestors, and by the way, you continue to benefit from the atrocities they committed. I notice you don’t mention that.

All of the ethnicities/cultures you listed have been treated unjustly and unfairly. Land and culture, pride, life, joy, the right TO BE A HUMAN BEING, all of that has, as some point, been taken from these cultures and ethnicities. The pride they display has stemmed from attempts at RECLAIMING what has been stolen.

Black history month? Really?! Are YOU people really angry that Black people get ONE month a year to “celebrate” the beautiful and illustrious history that cannot truly be taught within a month? You begrudge us ONE month out of TWELVE that children are taught about the greatness of YOUR ancestors?! Your ancestors who have been the oppressors, enslavers, and murderers? We constantly learn about the “greatness” of your ancestors, and other races/ethnicities/etc are just a footnote in the greatness of Whiteness. I hear this pathetic whining about Black history month from so many racists… It’s ridiculous.

You know what, you can be “proud to be white,” (I guess…) but how about learning compassion, consideration, and how about learning a little about WHITE PRIVILEGE while you’re at it?!

By the way, if you have to say, “I’m not racist, but” we can pretty much guarantee what comes next is going to be racist.

.::Makeda's Mind::.: "Unanimous Vote for Racist Kanazawa's Dismissal"

“On May 18, 2011, the University of London Union Senate, the Union’s legislative body representing over 120,000 students, voted unanimously in favor of calling for a campaign for Kanazawa’s dismissal. The reasons stated for this call for dismissal include “flawed research” and “unscientific…

[Flash 10 is required to watch video]

re-genesis:

Today in our “Racist commercials” segment: The pepsi “Love hurts” commercial aired during the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is always the highest rated show in the U.S. This year, it got 111 million viewers, making it the most watched television show of all time. Last year it had 104 million viewers. What better time to aid white supremacy, perpetuate stereotypes, and deepen the ever-growing rift between Black men and Black women? I want everyone to know and understand that nothing in advertisement is accidental. Every single thing in advertising and marketing is carefully thought out and strategically placed to evoke the response they want and send the messages (subliminal and direct) that they want. This is why I am so cautious about what my son watches.

Watch the video carefully. Think about what you see. Here’s what I see:

We immediately see an over-bearing, aggressive, and controlling Black woman and a Black man who sneaks, hides, and is obviously afraid of his wife, or just use to her  abuse and “hen-pecking.” In the video, he has no self-control, and needs someone to do it for him. As he unknowingly drinks diet Pepsi, his wife comes and drinks with him. She has outsmarted her dumb Black husband. After tasting the diet Pepsi he says in reverent tones, “Maximum taste…” As he says this, a white woman runs into the frame. The Black man and Caucasian woman than exchange “a look.” The Caucasian girl is friendly and fit, whereas the Black woman is out of shape, mean, and abusive. The Caucasian woman is also defenseless and helpless, the opposite of the mean, aggressive Black woman. Then the couple flees the scene. This commercial also perpetuates the notion that we are undesirable, especially compared to a Caucasian woman.

Again, nothing in these matters is accidental. I don’t drink sodas, but I refuse to support ANY Pepsi products. I hope you won’t continue to support pepsi and its various products, either.

Body Kouros review

The last few months, I’ve discovered my love for colognes and been on this fragrance- kick everyday since. I’m currently at 10 bottles of colognes and I don’t see myself slowing down any time soon. One thing I will say is that I’m not a huge fan aquatics or fresh, ‘summery’ scents. They’re simply too popular and generic; smelling like something that going to remind a nice lady of her ex-boyfriend/big brother/husband/father simply isn’t cool to me. I want to stand out in the crowd, not blend in it so I tend to gravitate towards unique-smelling fragrances.

“Kouros Body” by Yves Saint Laurent is a favorite of mine. It initially caught my attention by becoming a ‘Internet legend’ of sorts, earning the reputation of being ‘sex in a bottle.’  The intense smell starts off with a sweet vanilla/ caramel-ish like smell followed by a rush of an energetic eucalyptus and mellow incense. The eucalyptus gives the cologne a Vick’s vapor rub feel but it’s real nice! There’s also this mysterious, masculine vibe to the scent that has a hint of sex-appeal through out the life of the fragrance. Can’t quite describe the smell because it’s a scent you have to experience for yourself. Like I said earlier, it’s very intense; demanding attention to the wearer and I must say it will get you noticed. Now whether or not that’s a good or bad thing is a whole different story because this is a very different and unique smell and I will go as far as to say this is a ‘love it or hate it’ type of fragrance.

After around 2 hours on me, the fragrance becomes sweeter while simultaneously becoming more subtle with the close smell staying close to the skin. This is PERFECT for when you plan on cuddling next to that special someone. Every man should own this scent and if you can handle the eucalyptus, you’re going to be in for a nice surprise.

Buy,Try, or Pass?

TRY! It’s unique, sexy and last around 8-10 hours with respectable sillage, and in my opinion makes a great date-night cologne.
